ISI E&C was appointed as factory design and build contractor for TH Automotive Manufacturing's new vehicle assembly plant in Khnay Kok, Kampong Tralach district, Kampong Chhnang. The project covers 27,000 m² of built area across an 11-hectare site. The contract was a single design-and-build package: architectural, structural and MEP design; the production factory; an office and administration building; a worker dormitory; utility buildings; MEP installation; and site infrastructure including earthworks, internal roads and drainage. The production hall is built on a 40 m clear span with a 10 m eaves height and a 150 mm reinforced floor slab, giving a column-free floor sized for a full vehicle assembly line and its material flow. The plant assembles GAC and Chevrolet vehicles with an annual capacity of 20,000 units and employs 250 Cambodian workers. With one contractor carrying both design and construction, the client had a single accountable party from drawing to handover rather than an interface between designer and builder.
